a bit about me…
Storytelling is an infinitely renewable art form. Regardless of how many times a story has been told, a fresh challenge presents itself in the form of new and nuanced perspectives - mining the narrative for points that could be developed further. The result? Stumbling upon the intricate patterns and behaviors that spur action, conflict, resolution, tension, release, and silence.
As a lawyer, I was trained in the art of developing fact patterns and then honing in on the weak points. My early trials with journalism provided me the ability to improvise on a live mic, stay the course in rough interviews, and probe deeply for the headline that would incentivize audience investment.
Traveling the world as an independent musician forced me to take my rudimentary stories and present them every night on different stages, learning what works and what didn't. And it took me nearly 15 years of stubborn trials to stumble into documentary film making and it's aural equivalent, podcasting, where I could marry sound and vision to story and create fresh takes on familiar patterns.
Any story can be told in a dynamic, engaging, and rewarding manner. Patience, commitment and open-mindedness, when coupled with technical, compositional, and editorial skills makes the process exciting, energizing, and fruitful.
I am always in search of new stories to tell and would love to work on yours. Believe me, it's way more exciting than you may think!
